Heanor Festival May Day Week 2010

Welcome to the Heanor Festival website. This year’s event will take place 1 – 8 May 2010 where a total of 22 events have been organised for the enjoyment of the Heanor community and visitors to the area. There are some new and exciting activities as well as some old favourites like the Teddies Leap of Faith and the Tower Visit. See below for the full list of activities taking place during the week (or see the leaflet for Heanor Festival 2010). Please note that the Salsa event is now 7-8pm, rather than the time stated on the leaflet.

Heritage Exhibition –“ Heanor’s Industrial Heritage”

The Old Fire Station, Market Place, Heanor.

Scarecrows

Created by local young people from re-cycled materials and displayed in various locations around the town centre.

Quiz on the History of Heanor

Quiz forms are available at the Heanor Exhibition at the Old Fire Station on Wilmot Street.

Art & Flower Exhibition

Art display by students of Aldercar Community Language College and floral displays by local groups at Heanor Methodist Church.  Exhibition launched on Fri 30 April at 11.00am and open daily at various times until Sat 8 May
