Mr Lawrence's Children by local historian Ron Faulks

One of the most fascinating aspects of the work of D.H. Lawrence is that he was never afraid to introduce children in to his writing, and deal with them, generally, with sympathy and understanding. But it is not so well known that he had a way with the children he met in his lifetime. He accepted children as approachable young human beings, and in return they accepted him similarly. It is thought that there was always a bit of a child in Lawrence that never quite grew up. Ron Faulks, who recently appeared on Midlands Today, has been a member of the D.H. Lawrence Society for many years and is a renowned expert on probably our most famous local author.
