Heanor Festival Week May Day Week 2010
Heanor Festival week is on every May Bank Holiday week, see below for news from previous years (full list of 2009 events on the events page and in the Heanor Festival Week leaflet). Preparations are now well underway for Heanor Festival Week 2010. Lots of events are free and there's sure to be something for everyone. The event has been running for a number of years and was originally known as Heanor Market Town Week. The 2009 events included two competitions, details are below. details of the 2010 competitions will appear here shortly.
Heanor Festival Week 2009 Competitions
Photographic Competition

What does Heanor mean to you? Capture the essence of Heanor in a photograph and you could have the opportunity to win a prize.
There are two categories:
1 - Under 12
2 - 12+
Photographs should be no more than A5 in size. On the reverse side of the photograph write your name, category number and contact number.
If you would like your photograph to be returned, please enclose a stamped addressed envelope.

The winning entries from the Festival competition and a selection of other entries will be exhibited in Heanor Library. Please come and view the exhibition.

Spot the Maypoles Competition
Spot the Maypoles in the shop windows around Heanor Town Centre and have a chance to win a £10 gift voucher!
A total of twelve maypoles will be placed in various shop windows around Heanor Town Centre between Saturday 2nd May and Saturday 9th May. All you need to do is find all twelve maypoles and write down the name of the shops where you found them in the table below or on the entry form on the leaflet. Then fill in your contact details and post your entry forms in one of the boxes at one of the following locations no later than 12noon on Saturday 9th May.

• Post Office, Godfrey Street, Heanor
• Derbyshire Building Society, Market Street, Heanor
